Physiotherapy Department

The Physiotherapy Program within the Vocational School of Health Services at Toros University began its academic activities in the 2015–2016 academic year.

Physical therapy methods and opportunities are continuously evolving and renewing themselves in parallel with technological advancements. The integration of these methods into treatment processes and the innovations they bring to practical applications have increased the demand for qualified personnel in this growing sector. Today, the role of physiotherapy is becoming increasingly important, and its fields of practice are expanding day by day.

Physiotherapy technicians can work in a wide range of institutions, including public and private hospitals, polyclinics, sports clubs, health and fitness centers, schools and special education institutions, rehabilitation centers, specialized medical centers, nursing homes and care facilities, municipalities, home care services, disease-specific foundations and associations, as well as spa and thermal therapy centers and health tourism hotels.

The Physiotherapy Program is designed to train well-equipped graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills, and its curriculum is planned in accordance with innovations and the requirements of the modern era. Courses such as Basic Measurement and Evaluation in Physiotherapy, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Methods, Hydrotherapy-Balneotherapy, and Physiotherapy in Pediatric, Orthopedic, Neurological, and Rheumatic Diseases include both theoretical and practical components.

The program lasts two years and consists of a total of 120 ECTS credits. The curriculum is structured based on a 3+1 education model, allowing students to complete their final semester through practical training in public and/or private hospitals. Graduates of the program earn the title of “Physiotherapy Technician” and may also obtain the title of “Physiotherapist” by continuing their education through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
