The Physiotherapy Program within the Vocational School of Health Services at Toros University began its academic education in the 2015–2016 academic year.

Physiotherapy methods and opportunities are continuously evolving and renewing themselves in line with technological advancements. The integration of these methods into treatment processes and the innovations they bring to practical applications have increased the demand for qualified personnel in this developing sector. Today, the role of physiotherapy is becoming increasingly important, and its fields of practice are expanding day by day.

Physiotherapy technicians can work in a wide range of institutions, including public and private hospitals, polyclinics, sports clubs, health and sports centers, schools and special education institutions, special education centers, specialized clinics, nursing homes and care facilities, municipalities, home care services, disease-specific foundations and associations, as well as thermal spa and wellness centers and health tourism hotels.

The Physiotherapy Program is designed in an integrated manner with innovations and the requirements of the modern era throughout the educational process in order to train graduates equipped with the necessary field knowledge and skills. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components in most professional courses such as Basic Measurement and Evaluation in Physiotherapy, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Methods, Hydrotherapy and Balneotherapy, and Physiotherapy in Pediatric, Orthopedic, Neurological, and Rheumatic Diseases.

The program duration is two years, with a total of 120 ECTS credits. The curriculum is designed based on a 3+1 education model, and students complete their final semester by gaining practical experience in public and/or private hospitals. Graduates of the program are awarded the title of “Physiotherapy Technician” and may also obtain the title of “Physiotherapist” by completing their education through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
