Assessment and Evaluation

In the Physiotherapy Program, the assessment and evaluation process aims to objectively, transparently, and comprehensively evaluate students’ knowledge, skills, and professional competencies. This process is carried out systematically in order to monitor the level of achievement of program outcomes and to provide data for continuous improvement activities.

Within the program, assessment and evaluation are structured to cover not only students’ theoretical knowledge but also their competencies in physiotherapy assessment procedures, exercise applications, rehabilitation approaches, patient safety, adherence to ethical principles, and teamwork skills.

In each course, students are assessed through midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, assignments, laboratory and practical work, skill assessments, clinical practice, and case-based evaluations. Depending on the nature of the course, different and complementary assessment methods may also be used.

The weightings used in calculating the final course grade are based on the percentages specified in the Bologna Information Package of the relevant course.

In order to be eligible to take the final exam, students are required to meet the attendance requirements specified in the relevant regulations. Attendance is particularly important in practical, laboratory, and clinical skills courses.

A letter grading system is used in the program. Grades of AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC are considered passing, while DC and DD are considered conditionally passing. In order for a student to be considered successful in a course with a DC or DD grade, their cumulative GPA must be at least 2.00.

Assessment results are linked to program outcomes, and based on the data obtained, course contents, teaching methods, and implementation processes are regularly reviewed and updated. In this way, the continuous improvement of the program’s educational quality is ensured.
