EDUCATION PLAN

The Physiotherapy Program curriculum is structured in a way that supports the program’s educational objectives and learning outcomes. The curriculum has a holistic structure designed to develop students’ fundamental knowledge in health sciences, enhance their professional skills, and strengthen their clinical practice competencies.

The education plan consists of four main components: basic health sciences courses, professional field courses, general education courses, and practical training activities.

Basic Health Sciences and Professional Field Courses

Within the program, students gain knowledge and skills in basic health sciences such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, biomechanics, and kinesiology, as well as in field-specific courses including basic measurement and evaluation in physiotherapy, physical therapy and rehabilitation methods, and physiotherapy in orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, and rheumatic diseases.

These courses aim to strengthen students’ theoretical foundation while also developing their professional skills related to assessment, exercise application, and rehabilitation processes.

The courses are supported by practical training, laboratory work, skill-based education, and clinical applications, aiming to develop students’ abilities in observation, problem-solving, participation in clinical decision-making processes, and professional practice skills.

General Education

The program also includes general education courses that support professional development. In this context, the development of students’ competencies in the following areas is targeted:

  • Professional ethical awareness
  • Teamwork skills
  • Written and verbal communication competence
  • Responsibility and work discipline

Foreign Language Education

Foreign language courses included in the program support students in following basic physiotherapy terminology, keeping up with scientific developments, and communicating professionally at an international level.

Practice and Professional Experience

Students gain professional experience through practical courses, laboratory work, and clinical practice processes. During this process, students observe physiotherapy practices in healthcare institutions and actively participate in applications under the supervision of a physiotherapist, thereby improving their professional competencies.

Continuous Development

The education plan is regularly reviewed and updated in accordance with course evaluation results, program outcome analyses, and stakeholder feedback. In this way, the currency, effectiveness, and compliance of the program with the needs of the healthcare sector are continuously ensured.
