First And Emergency Aid Department

Considering the increasing demand for healthcare services and the growing need for qualified healthcare personnel, the First and Emergency Aid Program holds a critical position within the healthcare system. The primary aim of this program is to train competent auxiliary healthcare professionals who can deliver pre-hospital emergency care in accordance with scientific, ethical, and professional standards, and who are capable of performing life-saving and disability-preventing medical interventions during the critical period from the scene of the incident until the patient reaches definitive treatment.

Within the scope of the program, students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as basic and advanced life support, trauma management, emergency patient care, patient stabilization, and safe patient transport. In this way, graduates are equipped to respond rapidly, accurately, and effectively to emergency situations, contributing significantly to the healthcare system.

Graduates of the program receive an associate degree and earn the title of “First and Emergency Aid Technician (Paramedic).” They can work in hospital emergency departments, 112 Emergency Health Services centers and stations, ambulance services, and various other healthcare institutions.

Graduates of Health Vocational High Schools, particularly from Emergency Medical Technician and First and Emergency Aid fields, may be admitted to the program in accordance with relevant regulations. In addition, graduates can continue their academic education by transferring to undergraduate programs such as “Emergency Aid and Disaster Management,” “Nursing,” and “Nursing and Health Services” through the Vertical Transfer Exam.

In this respect, the program aims not only to meet the need for qualified workforce in the healthcare sector but also to support the professional and academic development of its students through a dynamic and up-to-date educational structure.
