Toros University

The Opticianry Program affiliated with the Department of Medical Services and Techniques of the Vocational School at Toros University was established in the 2014–2015 academic year and graduated its first cohort in 2016. The duration of the program is two years, and the language of instruction is Turkish.

Founded in 2009, Toros University began admitting students to the Opticianry Program in the 2014–2015 academic year, and by graduating its first students in 2016, it started contributing qualified healthcare technicians to the optical sector. Initially affiliated with the Vocational School, the Opticianry Program was reorganized under the Vocational School of Health Services in the 2021–2022 academic year. Since its establishment, the program has adopted an educational approach that integrates a strong theoretical foundation with contemporary professional practices, placing particular emphasis on practice-based training.

Until 2019, students completed their education through four semesters of theoretical and practical instruction at the university, supplemented by a one-month summer internship in optical establishments. As of 2019, a transition to the 3+1 education model has been implemented across several programs, including Opticianry, thereby adopting a more practice-oriented educational framework.
