The aim of the Opticianry Program is to educate qualified healthcare technicians who possess fundamental knowledge of opticianry, understand the functioning of systems within the field, are capable of recognizing and effectively using optical instruments, and can accurately perform frame and lens selection as well as assembly in accordance with prescription data. In addition, the program seeks to train individuals who are competent in cost analysis and workflow planning within business processes, have product marketing skills, closely follow professional developments, and practice their profession in accordance with ethical principles.
The program implements a 3+1 education model. According to this model, students receive theoretical and practical training at the university for three semesters, followed by a final semester of hands-on training in an optical establishment. Through opportunities such as Double Major and Minor programs offered at the university, students have the chance to obtain a second diploma alongside their Opticianry degree. Furthermore, students are able to take elective courses in areas of personal interest in addition to their professional coursework.
