Mechatronics Program

Mechatronics Program, which is affiliated to Toros University Vocational School, Electronics and Automation Department, was established in 2019 and started its academic activities in the 2019-2020 academic year. The education language of the program, whose education period is 2 years, is Turkish. 3+1 education model is applied in the course planning of the program. While students take theoretical and practical courses for 3 semesters, they gain experience in the relevant sectors only under the name of professional practice course for 1 semester. Graduates who successfully complete this program receive the title of "Mechatronics Technician".

The Mechatronics program is an interdisciplinary program based on the fields of machinery, electronics, computers and automation. Depending on the developing technology, today mechanical systems have been replaced by computer-controlled systems that include machinery, electronics, computers and automation. For this reason, it is necessary to meet the need for qualified personnel who will adapt to these developments, strengthen the regional and global power of our country and carry it forward. The aim of this program is to train qualified technical staff with knowledge and skills in the design, production, maintenance and repair of interdisciplinary technological products used in the sectors.

The student must take courses to complete the 120 ECTS credits required for graduation and be successful in these courses. Students with a GPA above 2.00 are eligible to graduate.

Mechatronics technicians are employed in many sectors, in public and private institutions and organizations related to companies producing goods/services. They create a bridge between mechatronics engineers and technicians in the design, production, maintenance, repair and operation of technological products. In addition, mechatronics technicians can open their own workplaces related to their field of work.

Some of the areas of interest of mechatronics are:

- Electricity
- Electronics
- Machine
- Communication
- Robotics
- Control and Automation
- Automotive
- Biomedical Devices
- Micro Systems
- Computer Aided Design, Modeling and Manufacturing

Since the mechatronics program is an interdisciplinary associate degree program, mechatronics technicians have the opportunity to transfer to many 4-year undergraduate programs with the vertical transfer exam. Some of the programs that mechatronics graduates can transfer to include:

- Electrical engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Electrical electronics Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Systems Engineering
- Control and Automation Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Manufacturing engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
