Organizational Structure And Decision-making Process

In the Translation and Interpreting Department, decision-making mechanisms go beyond being a mere administrative procedure; they are designed as a dynamic process that continuously enhances the quality of education, supports students' sectoral competencies, and integrates the program with the rapidly changing requirements of the translation industry.

At the core of this dynamic structure and quality assurance system lie the Department Advisory Board and the Student Advisory Board, which directly guide our professional and academic development processes. Thanks to this multi-stakeholder board consisting of the department head, faculty members, alumni, representatives of translation enterprises and language service providers, and student representatives, not only academic standards but also the current expectations and technological trends of the translation market are directly reflected in our department's strategic actions.

During the periodic meetings of our Advisory Board; the quality of education, translation studies-oriented research and development activities, and social contribution goals are comprehensively evaluated. While the decisions and recommendations emerging from these discussions are meticulously reported and monitored, several key areas are identified as our top priorities for development: enhancing translation technologies and applied laboratory training, establishing a sectoral mentorship network, increasing the efficiency of mandatory internship processes, and ensuring students' active participation in scientific activities and social responsibility projects.

In light of all these internal evaluations and structural feedback received from external stakeholders, necessary updates to our course syllabi and applied translation modules are rapidly implemented.

Without compromising on the principles of transparency, participation, and continuous improvement, our Translation and Interpreting Department guarantees the educational program's goals, outcomes, and future-oriented vision under the leadership of relevant academic boards and through the strong collaboration of all its stakeholders.
