The Department’s educational and research activities are sustainably supported through the university budget, Scientific Research Projects (BAP) funding, and external project resources. Within this framework, project applications aimed at increasing the academic productivity of faculty members are encouraged, and the necessary administrative and technical support is provided throughout the project development and implementation processes.
The Department considers increasing access to national and international research funds among its priority objectives and actively utilizes mechanisms that enhance the capacity of academic staff to produce scientific projects accordingly. In addition, students’ participation in project-based learning processes is supported, and their academic and professional development is fostered through activities that provide practical experience, particularly in translation practices, fieldwork, and professionally oriented applications.
The application and research infrastructure required for translation and interpreting education is regularly reviewed and updated in line with contemporary needs. In this context, computer-assisted translation software, terminology and corpus-based research tools, digital resources, and practical training environments used within the Department are continuously improved to enable students to transform theoretical knowledge into professional practice. Furthermore, studies conducted in areas such as written and oral translation, translation technologies, specialized translation fields, and intercultural communication are supported, and interdisciplinary research is encouraged.
In line with accreditation processes, emphasis is placed on the effective, efficient, and transparent use of resources. Accordingly, infrastructure, equipment, and human resource planning required for the sustainability of educational activities are periodically evaluated and developed based on a continuous improvement approach. Institutional support mechanisms are regularly monitored and assessed within the quality assurance system, in accordance with feedback received from internal and external stakeholders.
This approach strengthens the Department’s quality assurance system and contributes to the establishment of a sustainable academic structure aligned with accreditation standards.
