Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is a 4-year undergraduate program that started its activities in the 2018-2019 academic year as a part of Toros University School of Health Sciences. As of the 2020-2021 academic year, our department continues to train dietitians within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Currently, the field of Nutrition and Dietetics is developing rapidly in parallel with technological and scientific developments in molecular biology, genetics, and fundamental sciences. The importance of tackling health issues caused by inadequate and unbalanced nutrition has increased in the world and in our country. Dietitians play an important role in coping against obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and many diseases, which are among the most important health problems of humanity. Nutrition and Dietetics Departments provide education and service in interdisciplinary cooperation with other health and basic academic units in light of academic and technological developments in the world.
