The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program at Toros University offers modern laboratory facilities that enable students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical applications. The practical courses within the program are designed to support the development of students’ professional knowledge and skills, providing a safe, systematic, and effective learning environment in laboratory settings. Practical courses are conducted in the Basic Skills Laboratory located at the Toros University 45 Evler Campus. The equipment and devices in this laboratory are organized in accordance with the requirements of medical laboratory education, supporting students in gaining hands-on experience and professional competence.

Through laboratory applications, students gain experience in recognizing and effectively using basic laboratory equipment, understanding sample handling principles, performing analytical procedures, and working in accordance with quality and safety standards. In line with the program’s practice-oriented education approach, students strengthen their professional competencies by applying the theoretical knowledge they acquire in courses within a laboratory environment. This process also enhances students’ attention to detail, responsibility, manual skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork competencies.

The laboratory infrastructure of the program is designed not only to support educational objectives but also to prioritize student safety. The Basic Skills Laboratory is equipped with a first aid cabinet, eye wash station, and emergency shower. In addition, safety equipment such as ventilated chemical storage cabinets and fume hoods are regularly maintained and calibrated. Personal protective equipment is provided to students during laboratory applications, and the culture of safe laboratory practice is emphasized as an integral part of the training process.
