The Department of Psychology at Toros University is an undergraduate program that integrates the theoretical foundations of psychology with a practice-oriented approach to education and aims to train students as individuals who are well equipped both scientifically and professionally. In our department, students gain the ability to understand, evaluate, and interpret human behavior and mental processes through scientific methods.

During the course of their education, our aim is not only to provide students with theoretical knowledge, but also to help them develop the competencies necessary for conducting academic research, thinking critically, and preparing for the profession of psychology. In this regard, our department offers both theoretical and practical training covering the different subfields of psychology.

Our department offers two different programs, one in Turkish and the other fully in English. Although the 30% English program no longer admits new students, those currently enrolled continue their education. The fully English program includes one compulsory year of foreign language preparatory education, whereas the Turkish-language program does not include a preparatory class. Students who successfully complete the preparatory education, where applicable, are entitled to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the end of their four-year undergraduate education.

Graduates of the Department of Psychology may work in public institutions, the private sector, and, provided that certain requirements are met, in independent fields of practice. Our graduates may be employed in healthcare institutions, judicial services, family and social services, educational institutions, law enforcement, and various public organizations. In addition, they may also work in the private sector in psychotechnical assessment centers, mental health centers, special education and rehabilitation centers, human resources departments, research centers, and in the fields of advertising and marketing. Upon completion of the necessary training, they may also have the opportunity to work in areas such as family counseling.

Our department aims to educate psychologists who are equipped with scientific knowledge, have a strong sense of ethical responsibility, and are able to contribute to different areas of society.
