The Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Toros University offers students a high-quality undergraduate education covering the fundamental theories, research methods, and application areas of psychology. Our department aims to educate individuals who are able to understand human behavior on a scientific basis, think critically, adhere to ethical principles, and develop a strong sense of professional responsibility.
Our department has been in operation since the 2010–2011 academic year and graduated its first students in 2015. The department offers two programs, one in Turkish and the other fully in English. Although the 30% English program no longer admits new students, those currently enrolled continue their education. The fully English program includes one compulsory year of foreign language preparatory education, whereas the Turkish-language program does not include a preparatory year.
In addition to providing students with theoretical knowledge in the core areas of psychology, our program also equips them with the skills necessary for conducting academic research, scientific thinking, observation, assessment, and practice. In this respect, our department prepares students not only for undergraduate education but also for professional life and postgraduate studies.
Graduates of the Department of Psychology have a wide range of career opportunities in public institutions, the private sector, and, provided that they meet the necessary requirements, in independent practice. Our graduates may work in many different fields such as health, education, justice, social services, human resources, special education, rehabilitation, research, and counseling. The department aims to ensure that its graduates are equipped with versatile and comprehensive competencies.
