Decision-Making Processes and External Stakeholder Participation
The planning, updating, and quality assurance processes of the educational activities in the Operating Room Services Program are carried out based on a participatory management approach and a continuous improvement approach. Program management and relevant academic units play an active role in decision-making processes, and external stakeholder opinions are also utilized to ensure the program's currency and its alignment with the healthcare field.
In this regard, external stakeholders contributing to the program include operating room units of public and private hospitals, healthcare professionals working in surgical fields (operating nurses, surgical team members, anesthesia technicians), graduates, and specialists with field experience.
External Stakeholder Participation, Recording, and Impact on the Program:
The opinions and evaluations obtained from external stakeholders are systematically addressed through meetings, field visits, and feedback mechanisms aimed at improving the program's educational processes. This feedback is analyzed in line with program needs, and improvements are made to course content, practical training processes, and program structure where deemed necessary.
In this context, particularly;
- The following factors are taken into consideration in the program:
Current practices and sterilization techniques in the operating room environment,
Professional skills and competencies required in healthcare services,
Situations encountered by students during internships and clinical practice,
Experiences and feedback from graduates in their working lives.
Based on the feedback received, the program content is regularly reviewed; improvements are made to strengthen students' professional competencies by increasing the emphasis on practical application in areas such as sterile working principles, preparation for surgical procedures, patient safety, and infection control.
Through this approach, our program aims to train healthcare technicians who can adapt to the changing needs of the healthcare sector, possess high practical skills, have a sense of ethical responsibility, and are open to professional development.
