The assessment process in the Operating Room Services Program aims to objectively, transparently, and comprehensively evaluate students' knowledge, skills, and professional competencies. This process is systematically conducted to monitor the level of achievement of program outcomes and to provide data for continuous improvement efforts.
The assessment within the program is structured to cover not only students' theoretical knowledge but also their skills in operating room applications, sterilization processes, patient safety, teamwork, and adaptation to surgical procedures.
In each course, students are assessed through midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, assignments, laboratory and practical work, skill assessments, clinical applications, and case-based evaluations. Different and supplementary assessment methods may be used depending on the nature of the course.
The percentages specified in the Bologna Information Package for each course are used when calculating the success grade.
Students are required to attend classes at the rates specified in the relevant regulations in order to be eligible to take the final exam. Attendance is particularly important in applied and clinical courses.
A letter grading system is applied in the program. AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC grades are considered passing; DC and DD grades are considered conditionally passing. To pass a course with a DC or DD grade, a student must have a minimum overall weighted grade point average of 2.00.
Assessment and evaluation results are correlated with program outcomes; course content, teaching methods, and application processes are regularly reviewed and updated based on the data obtained. This aims to continuously improve the quality of education in the program.
