TOROS UNIVERSITY NURSING DEPARTMENT HISTORY

Toros University was established by the Mersin Education Foundation in accordance with Article 1 of Law No. 5913 on Amendments to the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on 23.06.2009 and published in the Official Gazette dated 07 July 2009 and numbered 27281, through Supplementary Article 111 added to the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions dated 28.03.1983 and numbered 2809.

The School of Health Sciences (SHS) was first established on 10.08.2012. Within the School of Health Sciences, students were admitted to the Department of Health Institutions Management for the first time in the 2014-2015 Academic Year. In 2015, the department's name was changed to Health Management, and students were admitted under this name for the first time in the 2015-2016 Academic Year. In the 2015-2016 Academic Year, students were admitted to the Department of Nursing for the first time and education commenced.

The Faculty of Health Sciences was established by Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated 16 June 2020 and numbered 31157, pursuant to Articles 30 and Supplementary Article 158 of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions No. 2809, and Supplementary Article 39 of the Council of Higher Education Law No. 2547, by Decision No. 2654 dated 20.06.2020.
