The Toros University Department of Translation and Interpretation was established in April 2019, admitted its first students, and began its academic activities in the 2019-2020 academic year. Since its establishment, our department has aimed to present the fundamental theoretical fields of translation studies and its sectoral application dimensions to students through a holistic educational approach.
Our program, which initially began its educational life under the Toros University School of Foreign Languages, was transferred to the Toros University Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences by the decision of the Council of Higher Education Executive Board dated November 8, 2023. Since then, our department has been continuing its academic activities within our faculty.
Today, operating under the umbrella of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, our department continuously updates its educational activities in line with developing global communication networks and changing sectoral needs. It successfully continues to prepare its students for both professional practice and academic studies as competent translators and interpreters who have a strong command of the dynamics of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural communication.
