ORGANIZATION AND DECISION-MAKING PROCESS

Decision-Making Processes and External Stakeholder Participation

In the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, the planning, updating, and quality assurance processes of educational activities are carried out based on a participatory management approach and the principle of continuous improvement. In decision-making processes, program management and relevant academic units take an active role, and external stakeholder opinions are also utilized to ensure the program remains up-to-date and aligned with developments in healthcare and laboratory services.

In this context, external stakeholders contributing to the program include medical laboratory units of public and private hospitals, healthcare professionals working in clinical laboratories (medical laboratory technicians, biologists, physicians), graduates, and experts with field experience.

External Stakeholder Participation, Documentation, and Impact on the Program

Feedback and evaluations obtained from external stakeholders are systematically addressed through meetings, site visits, and feedback mechanisms aimed at improving the educational processes of the program. These inputs are analyzed in line with program needs, and when necessary, improvements are made in course contents, practical training processes, and the overall program structure.

In particular, the following aspects are taken into consideration:

  • Current analytical methods and technologies used in medical laboratories,
  • Professional skills and competencies required in healthcare services,
  • Situations encountered by students during internships and laboratory practices,
  • Experiences and feedback from graduates in professional life

Based on the feedback obtained, the program content is regularly reviewed, and improvements are made to strengthen students’ professional competencies by increasing the practical components in areas such as specimen management, analytical processes, quality control, biosafety, and laboratory safety.

Through this approach, the program aims to train medical laboratory technicians who can adapt to the changing needs of the healthcare sector, possess strong practical skills, have a high awareness of ethical responsibilities, and are open to continuous professional development.
