Program Outputs

The Program Outcomes (POs) of the Mechatronics Program define the knowledge, skills, and competencies that students are expected to acquire upon graduation. These outcomes are determined in alignment with national qualifications frameworks, sectoral needs, and stakeholder feedback, and are structured in accordance with the criteria of the Council of Higher Education Quality.

Program Outcomes

Knowledge

  • PO1: Has sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge of the fundamental engineering disciplines forming mechatronic systems (mechanics, electrical-electronics, automation, software, etc.).
  • PO2: Follows current developments in the professional and technical field and effectively uses field-specific technologies.

Skills

  • PO3: Produces solutions in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechatronic systems using technical drawing, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • PO4: Uses technologies such as PLCs, sensors, and microcontrollers in industrial automation and control system applications.
  • PO5: Analyzes technical problems, develops solution proposals, and produces practical solutions when necessary.
  • PO6: Prepares technical reports; collects, analyzes, and presents data in field-related projects.

Competencies

Ability to Work Independently and Take Responsibility

  • PO7: Works effectively both individually and in multidisciplinary teams; takes responsibility and develops leadership skills.

Communication and Social Competence

  • PO9: Communicates effectively in written and oral forms in Turkish and English on field-related topics; is proficient in technical documentation and drawing language.
  • PO10: Effectively uses digital tools and information technologies in professional practices.

Field-Specific Competence

  • PO11: Acts in accordance with professional and ethical values; is aware of occupational health and safety and environmental protection.
  • PO12: Acts with awareness of sustainability and social responsibility as an individual sensitive to local and global issues.
  • PO13: Develops business ideas using entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative thinking skills and is willing to implement them.

Establishment and Updating of Program Outcomes

Program Outcomes are established and updated with the active involvement of internal and external stakeholders. Feedback obtained from student advising meetings is documented and discussed in department advisory board meetings.

Advisory board meetings are conducted with the participation of stakeholders, and suggestions regarding Program Outcomes are systematically evaluated. Approved recommendations are recorded in advisory board reports and implemented through departmental board decisions.
