Decision-Making Processes and External Stakeholder Involvement
In the First and Emergency Aid Program, the planning, updating, and quality assurance processes of educational activities are carried out based on a participatory management approach and a continuous improvement framework. In decision-making processes, program management and relevant academic units play an active role, and the opinions of external stakeholders are utilized to ensure that the program remains up-to-date and aligned with the field of emergency medical services.
In this context, external stakeholders contributing to the program include public and private hospitals, 112 Emergency Medical Service stations, emergency departments, healthcare professionals working in the field (paramedics, emergency medical technicians, emergency nurses), graduates, and experts with field experience.
External Stakeholder Involvement, Documentation, and Impact on the Program
The opinions and evaluations obtained from external stakeholders are systematically addressed through meetings, field visits, and feedback mechanisms conducted to improve the educational processes of the program. These feedbacks are analyzed in line with program needs, and when necessary, improvements are made in course content, practical training processes, and the overall program structure.
In particular, the following aspects are taken into consideration:
- Current practices in pre-hospital emergency interventions
- Basic and advanced life support applications and trauma management approaches
- Professional skills and competencies required in emergency medical services
- Situations encountered by students during internships, field, and clinical practices
- Experiences and feedback of graduates in professional life
Based on the feedback obtained, the program content is regularly reviewed, and improvements are implemented to strengthen students’ professional competencies by increasing the emphasis on practical training in areas such as patient assessment, emergency interventions, life support practices, teamwork, and patient safety.
Through this approach, the program aims to educate healthcare technicians who can adapt to the evolving needs of emergency medical services, possess strong practical skills, demonstrate ethical responsibility, and are open to continuous professional developme
