Within the Undergraduate Psychology Program, there is a compulsory internship designed to help students integrate their theoretical and applied knowledge with field experience. The main purpose of the internship is to contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills students acquire during their psychology education in a practical setting.
In our department, the internship is carried out within the scope of the course PSİ-405 Internship in the Turkish program and INTC405 Internship in the English program, and it is taken by students in the 7th semester. In order to complete the compulsory internship, students must have taken and successfully completed the courses Psychopathology I and Psychopathology II.
The internship is mainly completed during the summer term at the end of the third year and lasts for a total of 20 working days. Students are required to complete their internship in a healthcare institution with an inpatient service and under the supervision of a psychologist. During the internship process, students have the opportunity to observe field practices on site, become familiar with professional processes, and evaluate the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in a practical environment.
The internship application process, required documents, evaluation criteria, and obligations related to the internship are carried out in accordance with the department’s internship commission and the relevant regulations.
