Organizational Structure And Decision-making Process

Decision-Making Processes and External Stakeholder Participation

In our department, the planning and updating of educational activities as well as the implementation of quality assurance processes are based on the principles of Participatory Governance and Continuous Improvement. Although the Department Board constitutes the core of our decision-making mechanism, external stakeholder feedback serves as a primary driving force in maintaining the sectoral relevance of our program.

In this context, the Department Advisory Board—our most strategic advisory body—consists of representatives from the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO), executives from leading technology and energy companies in our region, and professional engineers who are graduates of our program and actively engaged in the field.

Functioning of the Advisory Board, Documentation, and Impact on the Curriculum

The Department Advisory Board convenes at least once a year under the coordination of the Head of the Department, based on an official agenda. To ensure transparency and traceability, all agenda items discussed and decisions taken during the meetings are formally documented in the “EEM Department Advisory Board Report,” submitted to the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering, and integrated into the department’s quality assurance system.

During these meetings, the following issues are discussed in detail:

  • Current technological developments and industrial trends in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,

  • Practical needs and competency gaps identified by our graduates working in the field,

  • Sectoral projections and ethical standards defined by the professional chamber (EMO).

The strategic feedback obtained from the Advisory Board is analyzed and reported by the Department Education Commission and subsequently presented to the Department Board. For example, based on industrial feedback reflected in the meeting minutes, our curriculum is continuously updated in alignment with current sectoral needs. Improvements and revisions are implemented in specific areas such as emerging technologies, artificial intelligence applications, flexible electronic systems, and renewable energy, both at the theoretical and laboratory levels.

Through this systematic approach, our program strongly safeguards its educational objective (PEO) of educating innovative engineers who are well-informed about contemporary challenges and capable of responding effectively to real-world industrial needs.
