GENERAL EVALUATION OF 2024 ADVISORY BOARD DECISIONS

The year 2024 was a period of renewal and strengthening for the Department of Business Administration in many areas, ranging from education and instruction to research and development and social contribution. According to the Advisory Board's evaluations, significant steps were taken throughout the year, particularly toward enriching the curriculum with applied education. Suggestions such as the revision of course contents, the incorporation of artificial intelligence–focused studies, the invitation of industry representatives to classes, and the annual updating of the curriculum supported the department's efforts to adapt to the requirements of the modern era.

Among the notable improvements of 2024 were the expansion of the elective course pool aimed at enabling students to specialize according to their areas of interest, the addition of courses that will benefit students after graduation, and the development of content oriented toward the cultivation of practical skills. Activities such as the organization of career summits, technical trips, and port visits to support career development, as well as the invitation to participate in university–industry cooperation projects within the scope of Garaj Mersin, have strengthened the department's industry connections. Furthermore, decisions such as the provision of internship support by stakeholders—particularly AKY Technology—and the assignment of one mentor to every 3–4 students clearly demonstrate the notable development of student support mechanisms.

In the field of research and development, the provision of support to students benefiting from Erasmus internship mobility in finding host companies reflects the importance attached to international mobility. Within the framework of social contribution, the planning of joint training-of-trainers meetings with the industry and various social contribution projects has contributed to the department's mission of integrating with society. In light of all these developments, 2024 is evaluated as a productive year that demonstrates the Department of Business Administration's progress toward becoming a more dynamic, industry-aligned, student-centered structure that establishes strong collaborations with external stakeholders.
