Cities are living spaces with economic, social, cultural, political and spatial dimensions that are complex to conceptualize, understand and explain. In this context, the aim of T.U. Urbanization and Local Governments Application and Research Center (KEYAM) is to produce, organize, store and share information on all contexts of our cities and especially the city we live in, Mersin.

KEYAM is located at the intersection of society and academia and in this direction, it provides mutual information exchange between local governments, urbanites, universities, faculties, departments, other research centers, academicians, students.

The main research topics of KEYAM are urbanization and local governments, natural and environmental sciences, urban sociology, urban sociology, urban economics, urban culture, urban history, political science, urban law, and in this context, it is aimed to organize colloquium, conference, symposium, panel, panel discussion, open session, exhibition, etc. activities, workshops, workshops and certified training programs. In this way, it is aimed to increase the cooperation between academicians, researchers and local administrations and to spread knowledge to the public sphere.
