About Us

As the Software Engineering Department of the Toros University Faculty of Engineering, our aim is to educate qualified professionals who can lead in the ever-changing world and technological conditions required by the software industry; contribute to technological advancements; possess up-to-date knowledge required by the modern era in both academia and all sectors of the software industry; and who are inquisitive, analytical, solution-oriented, capable of teamwork, and able to identify current problems in the industry. We aspire to become a department recognized at both national and international levels, ranking among the leading institutions in scientific and technological fields. To achieve this, we adopt a management approach that offers research and development as well as consultancy services, values university-industry collaboration, and upholds academic and ethical principles.

Our department consists of a strong academic staff made up of successful, knowledgeable, and dedicated faculty members. Our classrooms, cafeteria, and laboratory facilities are modern and comfortable. While providing our students with up-to-date knowledge and developing their research, analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills, our faculty also encourages participation in clubs and social and artistic activities such as music, sports, and theater, supporting the development of their personal and social skills.

The curriculum we have designed to achieve our department’s goals covers topics defined by internationally recognized standards organizations. Our students have the opportunity to apply for double major programs in other engineering departments within our university and graduate with a double degree.

Students with a high GPA and no failed courses may, if they wish, participate in the Workplace Training Program during their 8th semester. In this context, our students gain the opportunity to develop themselves through practical experience in industrial organizations and apply the knowledge they have acquired throughout their education.

Students who successfully complete all courses in our program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS credits), achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, successfully complete their graduation project, and receive a passing grade in their professional internship and internship report are awarded the title of SOFTWARE ENGINEER.
