INTERNSHIP

Within the scope of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, there is a compulsory internship designed to enable students to develop their professional knowledge and skills in a practical setting.

As part of the Vocational Practice course, students are required to complete a 70 working-day compulsory internship in the 4th semester (spring term of the second year). This practice aims to ensure that students become familiar with the healthcare system and particularly medical laboratory processes before graduation, gain professional experience, and improve their theoretical knowledge through practical application.

During the internship period, students have the opportunity to observe workplace processes, participate in applications, and enhance their professional competencies in areas such as specimen reception and preparation, biochemical analyses, hematological examinations, microbiological tests, molecular diagnostic methods, quality control processes, and biosafety practices in public hospitals, private healthcare institutions, and medical laboratories.

The application process, evaluation criteria, required documents, and reporting guidelines for the internship are determined in accordance with the relevant Vocational Practice directive.
