Toros University was established by Law No. 5913, adopted on June 23, 2009 and published in the Official Gazette on July 7, 2009. Initially, the university housed the Institutes of Science and Social Sciences; however, by Presidential Decree dated March 27, 2020, these institutes were closed and the Graduate Education Institute was established in their place.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2010, and the Civil Engineering Master's Program with Thesis commenced its educational activities in 2013. Since its inception, the program has been continuously improved and structured to meet current engineering needs.
