The Industrial Engineering Master's Program with Thesis aims to provide students with advanced engineering knowledge, develop research skills, and instill a scientific work discipline. The program has been operating since 2013.

The program lasts four semesters, and students must successfully complete at least 7 courses totaling 21 credits, a seminar course, and a thesis to graduate. Students who complete their courses within four semesters but not their thesis may be given additional time for thesis work. The maximum study period is six semesters.

Thesis Process and Evaluation

The thesis work aims to develop the student's skills in conducting scientific research, analyzing data, and interpreting results. The thesis defense process consists of the following stages:

Submission of the thesis to the institute after approval by the advisor
Obtaining and evaluating the plagiarism report
Formation of a jury, with at least one member from outside the institution
Conducting the thesis defense examination

The thesis examination consists of presentation and question-and-answer sessions and is open to academic participation. The jury makes a decision on the acceptance, rejection, or revision of the thesis.

Theses requiring revisions must be re-defended within three months at the latest. If the thesis is rejected, the student's enrollment in the program is terminated.

Quality Assurance and Student Outcomes

The program adopts a continuous improvement approach in line with MÜDEK criteria. Within this scope, students are expected to:

Acquire advanced engineering knowledge
Develop research and problem-solving skills
Acquire a sense of ethical responsibility
Gain interdisciplinary work competence
Develop scientific communication and reporting skills

Student feedback, course evaluations, and academic performance outcomes are regularly monitored and used in the development of the program.

Graduation

Students who successfully defend their thesis and have it approved by the institute are entitled to receive a Master's Degree with Thesis. Students whose theses are rejected may, if they meet the necessary conditions, transfer to a non-thesis master's program and obtain the right to graduate.
