Organization And Decision-making Process

Decision-Making Processes and External Stakeholder Participation

The planning, updating, and quality assurance processes of our department's educational activities are based on the principles of "Participatory Management" and "Continuous Improvement." While the Department Board is at the center of our decision-making mechanism, external stakeholder feedback forms the fundamental driving force of our processes to maintain the sectoral validity of our program.

In this context, the Department Advisory Board, the most strategic guiding body of our department, consists of managers from leading technology and energy companies in our region and professional engineers who have graduated from our program and are actively involved in the field.

Advisory Board Operation, Record Keeping, and Impact on the Curriculum:

Our Department Advisory Board meets at least once a year with an official agenda under the coordination of the Department Head. To ensure transparency and traceability in the meeting processes, all agenda items discussed and decisions made are officially recorded in the "Department Advisory Board Report" and submitted to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering, and integrated into our department's quality assurance system. In these meetings;

  • Current technological developments and industrial trends in the field of Industrial Engineering,
  • Practical needs and equipment deficiencies encountered by our graduates working in the field are discussed.

This strategic feedback received from the Board is analyzed and reported by our Department's Education and Training Commission and presented to the Department Board. For example, in line with the industrial feedback reflected in the minutes of the Advisory Board, continuous improvements and updates are made to our curriculum (in terms of theoretical and laboratory applications) in specific areas such as new technologies, artificial intelligence applications, and renewable energy, taking into account the current needs of the field. Thanks to this systematic approach, our program strongly secures its goal of training engineers who are knowledgeable about the problems of the age, innovative, and able to respond immediately to the real needs of the field (PEA).
