The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Toros University is an undergraduate program that combines strong theoretical foundations with a practice-oriented educational approach and aims to educate engineers who can adapt to the technological advancements of the modern era. Our department seeks to cultivate innovative and entrepreneurial individuals who can think analytically, identify, model, and solve engineering problems effectively.

The program consists of 8 semesters and a total of 240 ECTS credits and is structured around basic sciences, fundamental engineering courses, and field-specific courses. An active learning approach is adopted throughout the educational process. Through practical courses, laboratory studies, and project-based learning activities, students are enabled to apply their theoretical knowledge to real engineering problems. The project courses  provide  students with comprehensive experience in design, analysis, modeling, and reporting within an integrated engineering study.

The program includes a compulsory internship and an internship-based engineering practice, allowing students to establish direct contact with the industry and gain professional experience. This structure aims to strengthen graduates’ professional competencies and ensure that they are well prepared for professional life.

The department offers education in various specialization areas such as electrical systems, electronics, control systems, communications, power systems, and embedded systems. Through a rich pool of technical elective courses, students can differentiate themselves in their areas of interest. They may also gain interdisciplinary competencies through double major and minor programs. Within the scope of the Erasmus exchange program, students have the opportunity to gain international experience.

Established in 2009, the department graduated its first cohort in 2014 and continues its education, research, and community service activities in line with a philosophy of continuous improvement. With our academic staff, laboratory infrastructure, and quality-oriented management approach, we prepare our students both for professional careers in the industry and for graduate studies.
