BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP
Business Administration Internship (Applied Business Administration Training)
At Toros University's Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences (FEASS), the "Applied Business Administration Training Course" is conducted in the industry during the final semester (8th semester) of the Business Administration Department curriculum. Applied Business Administration Training is a novel approach developed to enable Business Administration students who have successfully completed their departmental courses and are approaching graduation to spend their final semester—the 8th semester—in the industry. Applied Business Administration Training is not a traditional "internship." It extends well beyond the scope of a conventional internship, involving approximately four months of uninterrupted engagement (at least 70 working days) in which students take on responsibilities as employees or managers within the industry and actively participate in all business activities. One of the most significant challenges faced by the business world is the need for experienced personnel. Shaped in line with the needs of the industry, the Applied Business Administration Training is successfully conducted, and a considerable portion of our students are offered employment opportunities at the workplaces where they complete their Applied Business Administration Training.
Eligibility Requirements for Applied Business Administration Training: Any student enrolled in the Toros University FEASS Business Administration Department who has completed the 7th semester of the curriculum and has a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00, provided that the number of failed courses does not exceed 2 (two), is designated as an Applied Business Administration Training student.
Attendance and Grading: The Applied Business Administration Training course covers one full semester (seventy working days), with a 100% attendance requirement calculated on the basis of working days. At the end of the semester, a letter grade is assigned—within the framework of the Applied Business Administration Training Grading Principles—based on the Supervising Faculty Member's and/or Lecturer's assessment of the monitored process, the opinion of the relevant workplace representative regarding the student, and the outcome of the student's Graduation Project and Presentation. The letter grade is one of those defined in the relevant articles of the "Toros University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Teaching Regulation" concerning academic grading. A student who receives a grade of at least CC is considered successful in this course.
Workplace – Student Matching: In order to ensure the effective and efficient conduct of the Applied Business Administration Training, our university has developed a web portal software for identifying workplaces where students will carry out their training, monitoring the training processes, and assessing achievement levels. Through the Toros University Industry/Sector Cooperation Center portal (TORSİM, http://torsim.toros.edu.tr/), company/institution registrations are maintained, student requests for applied training are received, and applying companies are evaluated; the approved company requests are then announced to students. Students may make their preferences based on the company quotas. Students' CVs play a significant role in the selection process carried out by the companies. When a company accepts the applications of students who have selected it, the "Company-Student Matching" process is completed, and the students commence their Applied Business Administration Training.
