FunMat 2026 Conference Kicks Off at Tarsus University
The 4th International Conference on Functional Materials Science and Engineering (FunMat 2026), bringing together researchers and scientists from around the world, officially commenced today at Tarsus University. The conference, held on June 4–5, 2026, will continue tomorrow with a series of scientific sessions and presentations.
Organized in collaboration with Tarsus University, Toros University, Çukurova University, and Mersin University, the conference welcomed academics, researchers, industry representatives, and students interested in the rapidly evolving field of functional materials.
During the opening ceremony, speakers emphasized the importance of scientific collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and innovation in materials science and engineering. Participants were encouraged to strengthen academic partnerships and contribute to the development of advanced technologies through research and knowledge sharing.
The first day of the conference featured keynote and invited talks covering a wide range of topics, including energy conversion materials, perovskite solar cells, biosensors, electromagnetic wave absorbing materials, and advanced functional materials. Parallel technical sessions provided opportunities for researchers to present their latest findings and exchange ideas with colleagues from different institutions and countries.
Scientific discussions throughout the day focused on nano-functional materials, biomaterials, energy materials, composites, ceramics, electronic materials, photonic materials, and other emerging research areas. Poster presentations also attracted significant interest, enabling young researchers to showcase their work and engage with experts in the field.
FunMat 2026 will continue tomorrow with additional oral and poster sessions, fostering further scientific interaction and collaboration among participants. The conference aims to promote the exchange of cutting-edge research and strengthen international cooperation in functional materials science and engineering.
