Our program, which trains qualified graphic design candidates to meet the needs of the industry, is a two-year associate degree program conducted in Turkish using the traditional teaching model. Student admission to the program is based on the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score, and our graduates have the opportunity to transfer to relevant four-year bachelor’s degree programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
In our time, the field of Graphic Design is constantly evolving and transforming in parallel with rapid advancements in digital media technologies. The increasing speed of information production and transmission worldwide and in our country has heightened the importance of qualified visual design, which enables the accurate and effective conveyance of this information load. Graphic designers play a significant role in addressing some of the most critical communication challenges of our time, such as visual clutter, distraction, and misinformation. Graphic Design programs provide education and services in collaboration with various disciplines, particularly the creative industries, guided by contemporary artistic approaches and technological advancements. Within this framework, our program aims to cultivate professional experts equipped with knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes specific to their field—individuals capable of applying their knowledge and skills in both personal and societal contexts, possessing a strong sense of responsibility, and demonstrating innovation and entrepreneurship to produce applications that meet the industry’s needs.
Throughout our educational process, we establish strong ties with design-focused sectors operating in our region. All decisions—from curriculum updates to the planning of social contribution activities—are made in collaboration with “Advisory Boards” composed of industry representatives, alumni, students, and faculty members. Thanks to this strong collaboration, our ‘Professional Practice (Workplace Training)’ course, offered in the 4th semester, is successfully implemented, addressing the issue of experience gaps students face when transitioning into the industry after graduation. Additionally, our students have the opportunity to study in European Union countries and gain international professional experience through the Erasmus+ Exchange and Internship Mobility programs.
Our graduates can pursue careers across the broad spectrum of creative industries, including advertising agencies, promotional departments of organizations, press, publishing, and media companies, printing and publishing facilities, as well as the photography, film-television, packaging, and textile sectors; Graduates who choose to continue their education through the DGS can advance to four-year programs such as Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, Visual Communication Design, Communication Design, Visual Arts, and Photography, thereby elevating their academic proficiency to the next level.
