The Civil Engineering Doctoral Program aims to provide students with advanced engineering knowledge, develop independent research skills, and cultivate the discipline to produce original scientific contributions. Built upon a postgraduate education foundation, the program announced its first student intake for the Fall semester of 2023-2024.

The duration of the doctoral program is a minimum of 8 semesters and a maximum of 12 semesters for students admitted with a master's degree; and a minimum of 10 semesters and a maximum of 14 semesters for students admitted with a bachelor's degree. To graduate, students must successfully complete their coursework, doctoral seminar, qualifying examination, thesis proposal, and doctoral dissertation.

The doctoral dissertation focuses on developing the student's ability to conduct independent scientific research, generate new knowledge, and present this knowledge as an original contribution to the literature.

The program adopts a continuous improvement approach in line with the principles of MÜDEK (Turkish University Quality Assurance Council) and postgraduate education quality assurance. Within this framework, students are expected to:

  • Acquire advanced theoretical and applied engineering knowledge
  • Develop competence in analyzing and solving complex engineering problems
  • Conduct independent and original scientific research
  • Acquire ethical and professional responsibility
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary studies
  • Establish scientific communication at national and international levels

Student feedback, course evaluations, and academic performance indicators are regularly monitored and used in the development of the program.

Students who successfully defend their doctoral thesis, complete all necessary academic obligations, and are approved by the institute are entitled to receive a Doctor of Civil Engineering Diploma.
